Keith M. Spaeth has served as Judge of the General Division of the Butler County, Ohio, Court of Common Pleas since April, 1999 following his service as Judge of Fairfield Municipal Court. Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Spaeth was a partner with the law firm of Millikin and Fitton, where he engaged in a general practice.

Professional affiliations include: member of the Butler County and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Ohio Judicial Conference; and past president of the Butler County Municipal and County Court Judge's Association. Community service affiliations include: past president of Lindenwald and Fairfield Kiwanis Clubs; former Lieutenant Governor of the Fifth Division of the Ohio District Kiwanis; former board member of American Heart Association, Drug Counseling Services, Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, Union Township Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton-Fairfield Youth Basketball League; former president of Butler County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board; former board member of Ohio Association of Drug Court Professionals; and current service on Miami Valley Health Services and Butler County Extension Service Advisory Boards.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Judge Spaeth attended Badin High School and went on to play football for, and graduate from, Purdue University in 1983. In 1986 he graduated from the University of Dayton Law School and was admitted to practice law later that year.

In addition to his regular docket, Judge Spaeth presides over the Drug Court operated by the Judges of the General Division. The Drug Court is a separate, specialized docket in which non-violent, drug-dependent offenders are provided intense, court-supervised treatment as a condition of probation. In order to graduate from the program, participants must abstain from the use of alcohol and drugs, maintain full time employment, complete their high school education and otherwise demonstrate that they have become rehabilitated and prepared to serve as a positive influence on our community.
